Beef Tenderloin With Mushroom Sauce

Beef tenderloin steaks rubbed with coarse pepper and grilled to perfection. Served with a dry red wine mushroom sauce.
Ingredients -
4 Beef Tenderloin Steaks (1-1/2 inches thick and 6 ounces each)
1 tablespoon Coarsely Ground Pepper
1/2 pound sliced Fresh Mushrooms
1/2 teaspoon minced Garlic
1/3 cup Butter, cubed
2 tablespoons All-Purpose Flour
1 cup Beef Broth
3/4 cup Dry Red Wine
1/8 teaspoon Salt
 
Preparation:

1. Preheat grill to medium heat.

2. Rub tenderloin steaks with coarsely ground pepper.

3. Grill steaks with top down 6-8 minutes. Turn and grill other side. Allow steaks to rest.

4. In large skillet, saute mushrooms and garlic in butter until tender, 3-4 minutes.

5. Stir flour into garlic and mushroom mixture. Gradually stir in dry red wine. Stir in salt.

6. Bring to a boil.

7. Cook and stir 2 to 3 minutes. Serve with tenderloin steaks.

Purchase individual Filet Mignon steaks if a tenderloin is not readily available.

Choose a wine you would enjoy drinking for this recipe. If you desire substitute beef broth for the red wine called for in this recipe.
